Alltel V9m rintone seem edit

For one the reason it is not on the list is because the seem edits listed here are for the v3c & v3m, not the v9m. Some are the same on the v9m and others aren't so you need to be careful. They ( Moto ) has updated the firmware a bit for the new phones. Also not to many folks have the Razr2 ( ie v9m) here at HTR. I'm one of the few that do, altho mine is from VZW and is flashed to the leaked USCC firmware. However here is the seem that should take care of it for you. I would think being it works on the USCC flash and it the same firmware pretty much which is based on the Moto UI.

seem 2742, record 1, bytes 0000, Offset 0075, bit 4 - off, Enables Apply as Ringtone

FYI I hope you do realize tho that p2kseem does not work with the v9m to do seem edits.

FYI you do not need the apply as ringtone edit to be able to use your own ringtones, really no reason to be frustrated at this point. If you have the ring tone on the phone you can select it by going into menu>settings>personalize> ring style, choose the ring style ( ie loud, soft....etc) and just set it there. However it is nice to just be able to go to your sounds folder and choose a ringers and just hit options to be able to " Apply as ringtone ".

Anywhoo as for the info you will need to do the edit everything is listed here so you can move forward with doing the edit. Head down to item 21 for the seem edit stuff, and look over any of the other info if you wish. Keep in mind some of it is relative to the VZW model but it will give you the idea of what software works with the phone and what doesn't. Alot of what worked on the original Razr DOES NOT work with the Razr2 just as an FYI.

curious, how are you transferring the ring tones to the phone?

Good info tho being I hadn't heard that. I did know they released a new firmware update but did not realize that changed that. Thx for the info tho.

I got the seem editor and everything working. I opened the file and bit 4 of offset 0075 was already off. I already had the ability to use apply as but only on ringtones that came with the phone. there must be a different place to allow it on all ringtones. Any suggestions?

YOU ARE A GENIOUS!!!!!! DELETING THAT FILE WORKED. I NOW HAVE CUSTOM RINGTONES YYYYYYYYYIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now to see if alltel will take this $70 cable back. Yeah they charged me $70 for a cable that "Can't be used to copy pictures and stuff off and on." Buncha lemurs.
