Anyone interested decent Moto touchscreen photos.

I hear that, think I'm buying both tho just for the hell of it seeing as I hvae 4 NE2's atm. Like I need another phone tho right. Who knows then maybe I'll sell some of these others I have. Don't see myself needing 2 Razr's ( v3c w/Telus, v3m w/Alltel), 2 Razr2's ( uscc flashed & my Telus v9m), Maxx Ve, & another slvr. Heck I've even thought about buying on of the new touchscreen Black Berries also, but i'll stick with the Moto first and see how they are.

yea but i'm lucky enough to not have to pay for my cell bill so I don'tcare to much about the dat plan on BB. You are correct tho as there call quality is not as good to say the least. i'd only use it for work stuff tho anyways seeing as I carry 2 phones most of the time to begin with.

FYI the OTA firmware update is not active. They are in the process of getting that going so at this point there is still no OTA firmware updates. Heck my Maxx Ve has the function in the menus already and that is over a year old now. However as I've mentioned my Maxx did not come from VZW it was from Moto tho. It is nice to know they are finally taking the phones to 8Gb support tho. However you need to be careful ther tho. I know like on the v9m it would take 4Gb fine on the original flash but as soon as you updated it you lost the 4Gb support and only had 2. Same thing happens with the v9m telus upgrade & the USCC upgrade.

As for me getting the Krave I will be more then likely, along with the new vu30 I'm sure at some point. If I were you I would not get a Dare its a POS to be honest with ya. I had one 2 weeks ago I was using from a friend and it was for Crap if you ask me. The reception was bad, sounded like you were talking into a tin can, and the phone itself just seemed to cheaply built.

Last I heard/saw is it will be released next Tues ( 10/14/08 ). Not sure if they are pulling there norm tho and only releasing it online first and then to follow the next week in store. My guess is that is what will happen seeing as they've just done that with the vu30. I saw it yesterday online already, and my word was it will be instore next week.

Hardware wise Motos have no issue with the 8Gb support. The issue I think comes from the firmware updates. Something gets jacked and messes it up. Personally I think it has to do with the fact of VZW's Brew firmware on Moto, but that can't be entirely true because even the USCC firmware & telus firmware mess up once you use the upgrade flash. To further add the USB mass storage gets jacked on cross flashes also. Gotta keep in mind tho VZW has deals with Samsung & LG which is why they carry so many more model of them then Motos persay. More so LG which is why VZW reps push LG so much. That said the UI was designed more so for LG phones and that is why they've gotten the better looking firmware long before any Moto ever has. Not that I like it even but still it is better then the dam red bar UI the Motos have been stuck with for so long until recently.

As for feature wise not a lot out on it to be honest. It will be EVDO Rev. A tho that is a given. In all honest any higher end phones these days has gotta have Rev A. Would make no sense not to have it designed around that for the future. Word is it may have the Dashboard interface but I'm not sure. One hing I can report I'm not liking tho is the thickness of it. Word is it's about as tall and wide as the v9m, but is 3/4 of an inch thick. Where the v9m is .47 thick which is like the Dare. That said I'm not getting/buying one until I at least get to see it in hand. I'm not a big fan of the phones getting thicker again, I like the thinness of my v9m being I carry the phone in my pocket alot. And to add a 1/4 and inch I don't know if that is going to work for me or not. Only time will tell I guess.

On a fast side note, the Samsung Sway looks really nice. Too bad it lacks EVDO.

There is no doubt about LG and Samsung getting better firmware over the motos. I REALLY would like it if vzw released just one last f/w update for the v9m that let you have that icon grid theme, and the text message on the outter screen. Also no surprise about them pushing LG phones, LG has given vzw a lot of their popular phones. EnV, Chocolate, Voyager, etc.

I have to know what is with the flip? Is that where the earpiece is? I am no phone assembling expert or how you put one together, but wouldn't the earpeice have to have like wires or something to connect?

After looking at the site that you just posted I have to say that I am growing more fond of the Krave. $149 for 2 year price? Thats REALLY nice IMO. To me if this is supposed to compete with the Dare then I'm loving it. Of course I'll have to test it out.

BTW how do you do the test site on vzw again? You have to enter a certain zip code.
