Been a while since I started my own topic here...
Anyways. Thought it would be cool to start a topic where we can talk about apps from the market place that we have downloaded.
So yeah I just downloaded this free app called G mote. It is pretty cool. You can either use it as a media remote for your computer or stream content from your computer to it. Video, pictures, or music. So far pictures and music work the best. I have yet to find a video that will. My guess is because of the resolution.
Nonetheless I have had zero issues with picture or music streaming.
You do have to install a desktop client though but it is no big.
Really was hoping something like this existed on the marketplace. I do this with my PS3. The whole streaming thing and love it.
So what about you guys? Any must have apps? Or apps to stay away from?

Really, there's so many apps and so much that can be done to this phone, I doubt you would ever find two Droids with exactly the same apps on it. As fas as must haves, well a file browser comes quite in handy. Astro for non-rooted phones and I also use SU File Explorer (SUFBS) on my rooted phone. Some would say a task manager, I have Advanced Task Manager, but don't use it too terribly often. Locale is another good one, I have it set for my work, so when the gps realizes I'm at work all my stuff goes to vibrate only mode. Fro weather, I prefer weatherbug over the weather channel app, but there again, it's all about preferences.
Maybe later, I'll chip in some others.

I use the Weather Channel. Tried bug but ended up with WC. But since there is a native weather app coming in 2.1 I do not think I'll be keeping WC.
So with Locale whenever you go in a building it turns the phone on vibrate? Or only to certain buildings?

I'm with ya there buddy. To many different options and everyone has there own tastes in things. I do concur on a few of the things you brought up tho like weatherbug, Astro, a task killer...etc. I personally don't use the SU File Explorer myself tho. I had it for a day and got my money back as I already had root explorer, and a terminal emulator so it was kinda pointless in my case. Plus at the time it was not coded correctly for mounting or remounting which was a concern.
When I get some time in the next day or so I'll go threw some of what I have installed on my Droid and post the details just can't do it while I'm at the office and will be busy this evening. However one thing to keep in mind is I am running the newest 1.1 ROM and have added a few things since then because of that ROM. One of which is SetCPU, and also Home Switcher.

So really just post the ones you think are really cool and make the device better.
I use advance task killer free. I like the icon but I founf that if you tap the kill selected app button twice it gives you how much RAM you have. It is kinda weird like once kills the app and gives you a little mem back but tap it again and you get a bunch back. This could be something with the free version though.

So have any of you guys heard of wave secure? It is supposed to be one of those backup phone and then if you loose it you can track it and wipe it thing. It is free till the 31st and you have a lifetime subscription.
Another thing I have seen on the marketplace are firewalls and virus scanners. Do you guys think they are worth it? Never though my phone would ever need one but I guess with all the apps and stuff.

But as soon as some #### learns how, they'll have all kinds of links in webpages with viruses in them. I think the AV people pay them to do it.
