Computer won't charge my phone
I would like to connect my v3m to my laptop to transfer files using MPT. I followed the instructions on the start-here page of the website and I'm stuck on the 4th step. When i plug my phone in, windows pop-up a window saying "Found New Hardware" Then "Windows needs to install driver software for your Motorola K1m/L7c/V3m". The file Is the file I just downloaded not working? I've read some forum posts, but my phone isn't charging off the computer like the others were.
I have a V3m, USB cable, Windows Vista, wanting to use mpt, what's my move?

Look for the latest driver set at the Mickey folder below, i.e. Handset_USB_Driver_32_v3.7.0.msi by clicking the picture of Mickey Mouse below in my sig. After installing the driver set and BEFORE plugging your phone into your comp, then go to your start menu, click on the the drivers and hit the 'clean and re-install' option. Then re-boot your computer, then when that's all done, plug in your phone and then let's see what happens.
good luck

And I take it Vista did not find the drivers automatically?...

I'm not up on Vista, but I have heard it can be a POS OS, and that is why I'm not up on it. I guess, there may be some sort of conflict between the drivers and some other software you may have installed.
But, first, try another USB port. Don't use a USB hub, either. If that doesn't work, it might be a faulty cord, or the thing I mentioned above. Let us know.
good luck
