Did you get mobile web and GIN working OK... and if so, how???
Yes, both are working, 1x only for now. I posted over at Hofo in the thread with how I got it. Receiving MMS works but I get an error when sending.

Ok I played around with it and it works fully(the new flash file for alltel), I did alot of file changes and what not from that one walkthrough. Everything works good, Its a lil slow too boot up and semi buggy on some things (not important just im a perfectionist). I can't get the mms too send working and I also wasnt able to get internet browseing working. Skins and what not work fully. Im probly flashin back to Vzw though... I can't take the no mms/internet (though I never use those lol). I really hate the fact that somethigns not working!!! and also the slow booting / loading on phone/ some items wasnt my cup of tea.

GOOD luck for those who use :), If you need assistance feel free to ask as Ive done it and played with it.

i dunno if this helps or if it actually works after flashing,

but i used PST phone programmer to backup my nam file and brew file (brew file is on the wiki i think) but yeah, that would atleast avoid you having to do it manually on the phone... or who knows, maybe it will help, im gonna try it :)

the simple way to fix this is anyone who flashes should back up all the data stuff using PST and QPST before flashing the phone. If you back everything up off a working VZW UI Razr before you flash, then all you have to do it write those same files back after flashing and the problems are pretty much resolved.

Now if you already flashed and don't have the files then you are kinda stuck dealing with trying to fix it like the Wiki states which does not seem to apply/work as well when using the Alltel Monster flash. From what I've seen/read the best thing is to not use the Monster flash unless you have a bricked phone, just use the upgrade. Using the Monster wipe everything and that is what causes all these problems, by using the upgrade the traces of the VZW UI are still there on the phone so it isn't as bad to get things working.

In all honesty I was messing with this last week on a friends phone( ie Monster Alltel flash) after about 3 hours of trying to fix it I said screw it. Flashed back to the VZW monster flash and got everything working again, backedup the stuff needed, turned around and flashed with the 4.06 upgrade and was done in under 45 mins with everything working ( ie seem edits done, skinned, all the other goodies, and even data services).

Files you should backup prior to flashing

For another method, please see:

http://mark.cdmaforums.com/V3C-Process.htm

His recommendation follows:

Use Qualcomm QPST to backup service programming..... Unplug your phone from the PC, power it off, then back on, and re-connect it to the PC. Use the QPST Configuration program, make sure your phone is displayed/available... Select the port with your phone, then use the Start Client pull down, select Service Programming. At the phone selection screen, your phone should be listed and highlighted, click OK. Click the READ FROM PHONE button. On the "Enter Service Programming Code" screen, enter 000000 (or your phones SPC), and click OK. When the read is complete, and you see values filled in, click the SAVE TO FILE button. The file name box will automatically be filled in as your phone's ESN number followed by _SP... (example: 1A3333Ad_SP) click the Save button. Click on the Connection pull down in QPST Service Programming, and click EXIT. Exit the QPST Configuration program.

Use Motorola PST to backup additional files.... Unplug your phone from the PC, power it off, then back on, and re-connect it to the PC. Start PST Phone Programmer. Use the File pull down, and click on NEW. Select BREW File, and click OK. Use the Phone pull down menu and click on READ. When the PST Phone Programmer Progress window indicates the Read Procedure has completed successfully, close that progress window. In the PST Phone Programmer window, use the File pull down menu, and click SAVE AS... name the file, and click ...

Repeat the process using PST to backup each of the following... CDMA ERI File, CDMA NAM File, CDMA Preferred Roaming File, Feature File, Mobile IP File (NOTE: you might get an error stating this may or may not be supported, click YES to continue, it will report Partially completed), MMS Data File, RTT Data File and RTT Browser File (NOTE: have Ver 6.x tab selected before you click READ FROM PHONE).

NOTE: You do not need to exit PST, or unplug/poweroff/poweron/replug between READ operations.

When you have finished, in the PST Phone Programmer window, use the PHONE pull down menu, and click RESTART. If RESTART is grayed out. Click File -> New -> Phone Book -> OK. then do Phone -> Restart.

Thx, and that was exactly what I was talking about, but that isn't the entire process, so if anyone sees this plz use the link there is more to it then just what was pasted in the post above. You really need to follow the entire process and not just this part. This info is only the back up part of it and not actually getting the phone up and working.

Alright, when I tried to flash to the V3c Monster a while ago, I burned my data services. I followed that process to the T, except for the fact that my MMS Data File didn't back up. Here's what I haven't seen:

Any confirmation that *228 on the Monster WON'T kill the data services.
Any explanation of why some people are getting data back and some aren't.

Until these two are addressed, I'm not gonna flash. So, any ideas people?

I don't think I'm going to flash my V3M. I'll stay with the crappy Verizon UI but keep my games. I can't afford to lose them.

But oh well. I was really hoping that I would be able to flash.

VERIZON I HATE YOU FOR NOT KEEPING THE ORIGINAL MOTOROLA UI ON THE PHONE!!!!!!! YOU MESSED UP MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!
