Perhaps we should keep waiting for an Alltel V3m flash upgrade then...

After seeing what everyone is going through, I know I am. I'm happy with my V3c flash as of now.

After experiencing this first hand and flashing at least 4 times today... I think I'm ready to sit and wait for the upgrade file... It would seem that being able to get a monster like this, it wouldn't so difficult to obtain an upgrade. One good thing that did come out of this was I completely unbranded my phone. No more Verizon boot screen, even after flashing with 1.05 verizon monster!

of course, it saves me green backs at the end of the month and if need be I can always fix it if I have to, it's not why he needs a phone.

If a teenager can't be respondsible for what he chooses to do with his phone, block the service and the problem is solved. He didn't like it the last time he messed up and I made him pay the $200+ bill. I paid the first time, not a second. Problem mostly is the txt msg stuff more then anything. Most of these kids don't realize that sending msgs to other carriers costs $$$ if they aren't on the same network and it seems like every kid has different service. And dam the way some of these kids go threw txt msgs, my god.

Lol...he was just telling me the other day his buddy just lost his phone because the P's got a bill of over $400 and he had like sent over 4000 msgs that month.

In all honesty he asked to have it blocked so he didn't get stuck paying for another bill. All he wants is the phone, with a working media player and the Moto UI. He's been dieing for this to get released, since I have had my v3c flash for so long, he gives me crap all the time about swapping phones, but not an issue anymore.

Mark seems to be ONE OF THE FEW who have gotten everything back working again. He DID backup his MMS file. How many of you who have tried a Monster flash have backed up your MMS file? You CAN get the MMS file backed up with PST 7.2.5, I got it that way. I have everythign backed up, but has anyone successfully gotten MMS backed up and still not got it working??? Before I go thru this whole process.

Yep, that is true. I did the same thing and was surprised to see the Moto boot screen!! Of course, when I tried Mobile Web and Get it Now, I received the old "call *611". Customer Service had to do their thing, but now I have it all back with Google, et al. Glad I backed up everything per Mark's instructions. In addition, you should also backup other files, i.e. phone numbers!

I got mine with PST 7.2.5 Im going to take the plunge. We have a definite way to get back to the Verizon V3M firmware right? via the monster? I just wanna make sure I can go to V3M monster, then back to the Alltel 4.04 again.

I'm using PST 7.2.3. With the Alt monster, I was unable to see all the files under a/ with P2k Commander, so I couldn't "add" files to the phone. Bitpim showed all the files under a/. Bottom line, the Verizon monster definitely will restore and you will no longer have the Verizon boot pic!

After more research, I will probably go back to the Alt monster.

Don't even think about the "newest" Verizon update (09), I bricked my first V3m two weeks ago with that one! Verizon didn't hesitate when they saw the "blue screen." The tech fellow said that was the first V3m he had encountered like that. Promptly gave me a new phone and mysteriously, I quit having battery problems (using the old battery)!

Good luck!
