Posted: Fri, 12/22/2006 - 19:43 by tmorgan1689Someone who really knows what there doing still needs to come out with a guide for this. If they dont know html, the can do it in Microsoft Word or something and I can do the html part for them, but having a guide would help out many, many people.

Posted: Fri, 12/22/2006 - 20:40 by pyde_pypperI'll agree with the fact we need a guide but keep in mind things need to be done differently depending on what type of flash file is being used. The processes do not work the same for any type of flash file, it's all dependent on what flash is used ( ie a Monster flash, a Super flash, or a customer upgrade), and what phone you have and the f/w is on it originally.
There is going to have to be at least two different flash guides if we want it done right. Also one of the big things that needs to be added that isn't in the Wiki at Hofo is backing up original files from your current setup before you flash, it will save a lot of headaches down the road.

BTW...Razr, what did you have on your phone before you flashed it?

Posted: Fri, 12/22/2006 - 20:45 by pyde_pypperFYI, for anyone who is still having trouble backing up the MMS info via PST, you may want to hunt down PST 7.2.5 Originally I could never back up that file myself with PST 7.2.3, but I ended up getting 7.2.5 and it backed up the file just fine.
I'm not the first one to test this either I do believe
RAZRv3mM stated the same thing, and seeing as he's going threw the process as I type this hopefully he confirm the back ups we did get using PST 7.2.5 worked out right. That will be a step forward if it did work like we hope it did, it's hard to say until we get to a point of writing the file back to a flashed phone.

It unbrands the phone so there are no VZW files there and that is why everyone is having trouble getting data services to work with it. That is why I mentioned we need to add the backup stuff to a guide so it isn't so bad getting all functions of the phone to work again after flashing with a monster flash file. Like on a customer upgrade certain files are still left behind which is why it isn't that bad getting things back to working again.
