HHHEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLPPPPPP RAZR v3a(alltel) wont connect to computer
i have a v3a from alltel and when i plug it into the computer via usb cable it says new hardware found and then when i click it says i need to have motorola a41x/v32x software. ive been looking for 2 weeks now and the drivers i got off of motodev and the motorola site wont work. does anyone know of any alternatives or where i can get the software i need?

Posted: Mon, 11/17/2008 - 16:24 by listenman20you could pay for it by going to alltel for their media disc.. but with that said that software should be on the net somewhere...that may not be right...tho...you have no card so there's no need for media disc for that model...do you have the driver cleaner from moto? if not you can find it here in the start here guide...

and are you using the Motorola Driver Installer? it should update your windows based system to have all the related motorola drivers updated directly from motorola

Posted: Tue, 11/18/2008 - 15:53 by pyde_pypperhighly unlikely p2kcommander won't work. My guess is you need to have a specific version of it. Being I don't have a v3a myself I can't say. If they tried to use one of the older version of p2kcommander it may be a problem because the older version did not support p2k05 mode and that may be what is needed for use with the v3a. I have yet to find a Moto phone that won't work with p2kcommander you just have to find the right version and settings is all. If I were you I'd get the drivers installed correctly. then download MSU and install that. Once that is updated and installed plug your phone in. If is see the phoen and displays you ESN or MEID on the left hand side then start toying with p2kocmmander. First one I'd try is version 4.9.e and set it to use p2k05 mode and see what you get. No dice there then uncheck the p2k05 mode and try it again.

Curious what version of p2kcommander have you tried?
Also is MSU suspending your phone correctly so you see either the ESN or MEID on the left. If not you need to get that fixed first or no p2k program will work with your phone. To use them the phone must be suspended and that is the whole point of MSU.
the reason MPT works is because it runs off a different set of drivers ( ie Moto USB modem drivers, and not the actual Moto device drivers), which is why you are more then likely having issues with p2kcommander.
