Just a few hack questions for clarification - VZW KRZR K1m
Unfortunately, I just signed a contract with Verizon (after leaving At&T). I had a KRZR with AT&T and loved it so I got one from verizon. Now I am pissed that Verizon has disabled everything I liked about the KRZR.
Does the RAZR hacks here work for the KRZR K1m? Should I flash Alltel or Visio?
Here is what I want to access on my VZW KRZR...
1. Use my own .mp3 as a ringtone
2. Enable bluetooth transfer from KRZR to KRZR (I have 2)
3. Have my PC recognize the VZW KRZR as a mass storage device via USB & Bluetooth (Yes my laptop is Bluetooth enabled)
I think have downloaded what I need to do this from the d/l section of this site.
I have spent countless hours trying to figure this out how to fix this, now I know it requires a hack, which I am happy to do if it gives me back all functionality.

Posted: Wed, 12/12/2007 - 13:05 by MoparSarahYes, the same hacks for the RAZR work on the KRZR. For what you listed you want to do, you will definitely want to flash to VIVO. Here is the guide:

I did all the hacks available here to my KRZR, then when I was bored stiff, I flashed mine to VIVO. Everything that you asked for works, and from my understanding, this is the functionality the AT&T one has. Get yourself really familiar with all the programs listed in the guide, then do it. Do NOT skip any steps, or it won't work right.

Did flashing to VIVO remove any of the previous hacks you applied?

Posted: Wed, 12/12/2007 - 13:31 by MoparSarahYou got it, that is the correct file, and yes, it does erase your hacks, you will need to do them again...... BUT, they are in the steps in the guide, so once you have followed the guide to the end, they are done.

Posted: Wed, 12/12/2007 - 14:15 by steamer69IF ya never did it before, it will probly take you 45 min to and 1:15 to follow everything to the letter and do all your backups and such, then there is the time it takes to reseem and do some hacks.
Its all worth it in the end.

As soon at this is done correctly and you reboot the phone wouldn't it be recognized as a mass storage device in My Computer?

Posted: Wed, 12/12/2007 - 21:50 by MoparSarahNo, until you flash away from the Verizon User Interface, it will not be recognized as a mass usb storage device. Once you are on, say, VIVO, it will be. The Enable USB Transfer seem edit is to allow you to do all the hacking to the phone..... and yeah that's normal, on the KRZR, it is set already from the factory.

Posted: Wed, 12/12/2007 - 22:08 by MoparSarahNo. The seem edit to enable USB transfers IS necessary for flashing, or doing anything for that matter via USB, BUT, like I said, on the KRZR's for whatever reason that was already enabled..... I think because it was meant to be used for music transfer with the Verizon music kit.
No, you do not need your phone to be recognized as a USB storage device to perform the flash.
