Verizon Motorola RAZR V3m V cast phone (need help)
First off, im still somewhat of a noob to this website. Anyway, my brother gave me his Verizon Motorola RAZR V3m V cast phone which is great, but I have Cricket and apparently need to unlock it before I can get it activated. I started with the guides section of the website. It stated the requirements needed to unlock the phone so I downloaded windows sp2 as I have Windows xp and I have followed instructions in exact order (even watched the videos to make sure i was doing it right) Now when I get to step 4, where there should be pop ups to recognize your phone, nothing happens and my phone screen says the usb cable is an "unauthorized charger". Can anyone help me?

hmm.. im on linux now so
Posted: Mon, 08/04/2008 - 15:49 by spikejoneshmm.. im on linux now so lets see if i can remember this:
right click the "my computer" icon
click on properties in the context menu
click the button for device manager (should be on Hardware Tab)
if there is anything in there that has a yellow question mark - that means there is an issue with it. If it has a red "X", that means it is disabled. Check those out.
I know your laughing at me
Posted: Mon, 08/04/2008 - 15:58 by MezzyI know your laughing at me but thanks for helping. I did not see anything with a yellow question mark or a red x. I did see a yellow question mark at the top that said help but? Any other ideas? maybe sp 3 will do it? I did notice that my room mates comp had windows xp office and mine is just reg old xp. Maybe that has something to do with it? what do you think?

switch your input format on that post
Posted: Mon, 08/04/2008 - 21:28 by spikejonesif you go to edit tab on your post there and then go to the box underneath of your text input, there is a link called "Input format" click it and a new list will appear - choose the option for BB Code. That will format it properly for the forum. Thanks.

yeah.. it does appear that
Posted: Tue, 08/05/2008 - 05:23 by spikejonesyeah.. it does appear that USB controllers are properly installed as well as service pack 2. I wonder though, how old is this machiine? Have you ever upgraded you mother board drivers and such from the manufacturers website? If you do a search for your model at the manufacturers website, you may be able to find some updated drivers for all your hardware. I would start with the motherboard and USB controller drivers.
tbh, I will have to say that you might need to wait for Pyde to provide some further input though.
hmmmm.......
Posted: Tue, 08/05/2008 - 05:31 by pyde_pypperWell it started with me, because it hosed 2 of my comps and nothing would work right after installing it, and god forbid you try to uninstall it. Once you do that your comp is toast and will need a fresh install. Mind you the one comp was brand new right out of the box and issues. I also had word from 2 or 3 of the gurus over at Hofo to " NOT INSTALL IT" as it jacked there comps also. That said it wasn't really an idea it was fact. Could be better now with the fixes they've released but who knows. I'm still not willing to update and really there no reason to as far as I'm concerned.

yeah.. your probably right
Posted: Tue, 08/05/2008 - 05:38 by spikejonesyeah.. your probably right about that and i think that is why it was not put up for automatic updates straight away. that being said though, im not totally positive what exact version of SP3 was integrated with that disc (it was pirated vlk version).
I bought this comp from a
Posted: Tue, 08/05/2008 - 07:48 by MezzyI bought this comp from a friend and he was not sure what year it is. I also visited the manufacturers websight and could not find my card. It is made by PNY technologies inc. and it is a Geforce FX5200 DDR 128MB. If thats not the motherboard than im not sure what brand the other thing is, it does not say. However, it says PowerSpec and designed for windows xp on the front and on the back it says, Model:8980 S/N:8980010401892 if that helps?
