Verizon Motorola RAZR V3m V cast phone (need help)
First off, im still somewhat of a noob to this website. Anyway, my brother gave me his Verizon Motorola RAZR V3m V cast phone which is great, but I have Cricket and apparently need to unlock it before I can get it activated. I started with the guides section of the website. It stated the requirements needed to unlock the phone so I downloaded windows sp2 as I have Windows xp and I have followed instructions in exact order (even watched the videos to make sure i was doing it right) Now when I get to step 4, where there should be pop ups to recognize your phone, nothing happens and my phone screen says the usb cable is an "unauthorized charger". Can anyone help me?

Nevermind, my friend
Posted: Sat, 08/16/2008 - 17:03 by MezzyNevermind, my friend explained it to me as he was cleaning out my comp. Reinstalling windows or the drivers will not help. For anyone else experiencing the same problem as me, with a similar set-up (windows xp) and the same phone (RAZR V3m), what you will need is a PCI USB adapter, which should run about $15-$20 bones, unless you buy it online, which is cheaper. Make sure you buy one that can be returned also because it may or may not work with your comp, phone or both. I am getting one like this:

I will let you know if it works. Good luck!

I just got my new usb card and it is so pimp that it downloaded all the drivers I need automatically and my phone is now recognized as a new device. Anyways, thanks to everyone for stickin around so long and offering your help. Now that my phone is recognized I was wondering if anyone could give me some guidance on where to go now. I need to unlock it from verizon to cricket. I have spoken to cricket and they said this phone will work with their system once unlocked. Thanks again!

seems to me like they could
Posted: Fri, 08/22/2008 - 18:23 by spikejonesseems to me like they could just flash the firmware on the phone for your. CDMA phones dont use an "UNLOCKING" process. The closest thing to that is flashing the firmware to the one your new carrier uses.
Cool, does anyone know how i

Problem is I don't recall
Posted: Fri, 08/22/2008 - 19:03 by pyde_pypperProblem is I don't recall seeing a Cricket v3m flash. I know there is for the v3c tho. That said I'd go with the Generic Moto file( IE a DST flash from here http://bushe102.googlepages.com/Moto_flash.htm ) and just have them manually program it. With the Standard Moto flash there is no reason it should not be able to be activated on there network I wouldn't think.
