Verizon V3M and WAP Help
The guide for free web says that after entering the password web sessions should be the first item in the list, but on my Verizon V3M phone all I see is "Browser Reset" and at the very top of the screen is "Programming Menu" Where am I going wrong or am I?

Posted: Sat, 02/02/2008 - 18:08 by MoparSarahIn order to get the web sessions on some software, you must do 1 or 2 seem edits first:
SEEM 2742 RECORD 0001 BYTES 0000 OFFSET 0018
Check bit 5 to enable WEB SESSIONS in the PROGRAMMING MENU
SEEM 2742 RECORD 0001 BYTES 0000 OFFSET 0019
Check bit 3 to enable WEB SESSIONS ADVANCED SETTINGS (more than just your IP, it will allow you to enter everything that you need to instead of just a few things).
NOW, keep this in mind. Please read the RED LINK AT THE TOP OF ANY PAGE about why the site was down and what services are discontinued. THERE IS NOT FREE WAP THROUGH HTR AT THIS TIME. You can, however, use your own proxy or another free proxy that you will need to find on your own, as we don't have any listed here.

Failure
Posted: Tue, 08/19/2008 - 13:45 by jtheory89I am totally new to the concept of phone modification, and this was my first attempted seem edit, but it did not work for me. I backed up the seem file, as instructed by another guide, and checked box five under the specified seem; saved to phone, disconnected, restarted the phone and upon entering the programming menu the web sessions option was still mia. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I'm hoping I have just made some dumb error. Thanks in advance.

anyhoo... did you click on the proper offset for that seem?
check the seem edit tutorial in the guides section to get the general idea of how it is supposed to be done. i dont think that the seem edit in that specific walkthrough is pertinent to your firmware though. let us know.
ehh. whats up doc?
thanks

Is everything entered
Posted: Sat, 08/23/2008 - 15:17 by spikejonesIs everything entered exactly as stated in the guide?
such as username = your site username (capitalization matters)
same for password
what about port numbers? are they the same as listed in the guide?
are the server addresses listed properly?
ehh. whats up doc?
Pretty sure
Posted: Mon, 08/25/2008 - 10:31 by jtheory89I'm pretty positive that everything is entered correctly. Upon getting it to work for the first time I visited my banks website and several others. It was after a couple of days that it stopped working. I can still go to weather from my htr homepage, which pops up almost instantly, but anywhere else is a lost cause.
so it does work you just
Posted: Mon, 08/25/2008 - 11:35 by spikejonesso it does work you just cant get to some sites.. hmm. Most likely cause is a proxy server issue and not really anything to do with your setup. actually a 500 error is server related error to tell you the truth.
what sites are you trying to go to though? I will see if I can replicate the error through my phone.
ehh. whats up doc?
