Verizon V3M flash to Vivo

I was wondering if there is anyway to flash my V3M which I updated the bootloader and flashed the firmware to 01.19.09 by following these directions " Installing 01.19.09 on Verizon

As usual, we suggest updating firmware by contacting your local Verizon Wireless store. Ask for the update specifically by version number (01.19.09).

If you wish to install the update using a Motorola phone service tool, you need to install the flash titled "NEWC_TO_COMMON_BINARY_SW_ONLY". Install this software flash first.

Finally, install the other 01.19.09 Monster flash, without the special file name.

Doing this will update the boot loader code of the Motorola phone properly. Please note you should follow these instructions regardless of what firmware your Motorola V3m had previously. " from

Now I am wondering how I could flash to Vivo or if that is even possible. Thanks in Advance.

that depends on several factors. what f/w was on your phone to begin with? is your phone an meid or esn phone? that's the number the phone is registered with your carrier. once the phone is updated that far it's very hard to get it downgraded to change one over to vivo or any other carrier f/w.

Well, there 'might' or maybe 'should' be hope for you, but it's a long hard road from what I have read. I meant to try it myself so I could try to put together a guide for those who might try to come after, but then I got a Droid. Ooops, lol. I do now have a spare V3m but anyways, suffice it to say that I have NOT done this myself, so what info I have is just what I've read. I'll link a thread here that also has a link to a thread at HoFo (Howards Forums) which deals with upgrading to 24_1.01.19.07 and then back, should be the same for you.

I haven't wrapped my brain around this subject in at least a year, so if you ask me any questions about it, I'll be in your shoes and have to read everything you have to read, i.e. not much help. As a last note (and I can't remember at what point this comes to play) flashing a DST monster file helps to actually get it back to where you can put Vivo on it. Finally, you can find pretty much all the files/programs you will need (if you're using WinXP pro SP2) by clicking on Mickey below.

good luck

Ultimately that is up to you. If it were me, yes, I would ALWAYS go to the Vivo f/w, as I've tried every other providers Moto f/w for the V3m. But that is from my perspective of an early V3m owner, and one who had already flashed to Vivo BEFORE VZW put our their 24_ f/w's for the V3m.

In all honesty if I were you, I would have to tread carefully and probably wouldn't proceed unless I had a backup phone, just in case.

Hence my statement that I might have to try this sometime as I have several backup phones. . . .

I do have another phone that I could use so I think I'm going to go for it. So you would suggest to put my phone into bootloader then put the 01.09.05 version on it. Then go over to vivo?

Like I said, it's been QUITE a while since I've wrapped my brain around this in it's totallity. That said, I would FIRST activate said spare phone on your account/line and then try to proceed by reading ALL the info/posts/links I already posted.

I don't remember if it is as easy as just putting your phone into bootloader and then flash the NEWC_01.09.02 monster on it. I doubt it. Another point. Your latest reply said "put the 01.09.05 version ont it." There is NOT A 01.09.05 VERSION! Gotta pay attention to ALL the details. Sorry and I'm done for the night. READ, READ, rEAD, that's your best bet.

good luck

I wish you luck and yes, please let me/us know how it goes. Just for kicks, you might want to make notes as you go (I have when trying new stuff) so you can re-trace and perhaps isolate potentional problems/errors.

good luck
