The Vivo Compatible Skins Thread
After getting tired of the darklodge skins and getting increasingly envious of the skins available for GSM phones, I decided to start making some of them work for CDMA. I plan to keep adding more from time to time and hopefully others will, too.
A couple of warnings about the skins that I post:
1) These require custom icons and menu files to be uploaded. If you change skins every 10 minutes, you will be annoyed by this.
2) I only test these on my Vivo Flashed V3m, they may work just great on other phones and firmwares, but they may not, and they certainly won't work on Verizon's firmware.
Install the menu files and icons in:
/a/motorola/system/
Install the wallpapers and SU/SD animations in:
/a/motorola/shared/picture/
Install the .ski and .dat files in:
/a/mobile/skins/ */
* is the directory you create that has the same name as the .ski file for your skin.
I've already posted two of these, but I've tweaked them to work a bit better.

Basically just greyscaled the frames and highlights changed to brown. Facet as the default bg.
Matching mp3.bar, mvod.bar, openwave.gif, vivo.gif

BTW, what happened to the Skinner4Moto site? When I go to my bookmark, the url says Skinner4Moto, but there is no Skinner4Moto content :?:
As for skinning the v9m, I was considering that too when I was going to buy one. I think you would need a v9m or similar "module" from the skinner4moto site, and since I can't find the site anymore, prospects don't look too good, unless we find a way to create our own modules to work with the Skinner4Moto application.

Here's my first attempt at modifying the Vivo skin. I was going for the wmp11/Vista look, though not sure if you can tell lol
There's also a matching mp3player, brw_splash, vivo.gif. Didn't do an mvod.bar for this because I didn't know what it was at the time :)
I've tried taking captures of brew apps, but QPST's capture won't do it. It only displays the last "regular" menu before the brew app opened.
Thanks for the info Pyde. Found the thread on HoFo. I was wondering what the new cli files were for; in retrospect, can't believe I didn't figure it out. I just know that Skinner4Moto won't open the other regular ski files. I found the program Goldmember linked to, MotoSkin_0.1.8, and checked it out. It looks ok, but there appear to be fewer options than with the traditional s4m.
Well, my skinning days may be numbered anyway. I was in the process of purchasing a Z6c online for Christmas, but "accidentally" clicked on the Blackberry 8130 instead :wink:

Yea one of these days I need the time to sit down and read up on how to mess with skin. It's one thing I've never even touched. I have most of the software except for the fact I never installed it just came across it and grabbed it. Being you're in the skinning game any go places or links you may have for me to read up on it. Don't even know where to start, so I'LL Be a NOOBIE again.
